YOUTH AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

High School Board Member Position

​

The Graham County Community Foundation views our area youth as the leaders of tomorrow.  We are committed to learning more about the desires, needs and wants of the youth to make informed decisions for the betterment now and in the future.  The GCCF has a special position on the board of directors exclusively for high school students to serve and provide a youth perspective.

 

Graham County Community Foundation Youth Ambassador Program Board Member (GCCF-YAP).

​

The Youth Ambassador Board Member will attend monthly board meetings with full voting rights, help steer the course of the foundation’s programming, assist with foundation events and activities, and learn about philanthropy and community betterment.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

  • Applicants must be going into their sophomore, junior or senior year and in good academic standing attending school within Graham County, Kansas.

  • The Youth Ambassador Board Member(s) will begin serving their one-year term in June immediately following the conclusion of their freshman/sophomore/junior year, ending in May the following year.

  • YAPs have the option of renewing their term(s) for additional years through their graduating year, however, all YAPs must reapply annually for consideration of their renewal(s).

  • Multiple candidates may be selected to fill the board position. In such cases, those appointed will share one (1) vote on the board unless the board approves additional positions to the board of directors with full voting privileges.

Applicants must complete the application form, respond to the questions listed, obtain one letter of reference, and have all materials to Graham County Community Foundation, c/o Melissa Lindenman, Board Chair, PO Box 51, Hill City, KS 67642 or drop off or by e-mail as indicated on the application.

Applications will be reviewed and those selected to sit for an interview will be contacted by October 1. The finalist(s) will be announced by October 30 and begin their term in immediately.
